Around twenty-five thousand residences in Queensland's southeast were left lacking electricity on Monday morning after intense storm systems passed over the state, generating powerful gusts topping 109km/h.
Massive Ice Stones and Extensive Destruction
Homeowners reported giant hailstones reaching sizes of 7cm in particular locations. The Bureau of Meteorology confirmed that different parts across Queensland had been hit with significant hail.

Utility workers were focused on reestablishing power throughout the affected regions, with dozens of response units working to address the numerous electricity disruptions.
Victoria's Storm Challenges
At the same time, approximately one thousand households in Victoria also experienced power outages after the capital city recorded its most precipitation in 18 months.
Emergency response teams received nearly 600 calls for help across the state, mainly for structural issues but also for collapsed vegetation and flooding.

- Wyndham - over 175 emergency requests
At one point on the previous day, over 28,000 power users in Victoria were experiencing outages.
Weather Forecast
Damp conditions were expected to linger along large portions of Queensland's east this week as a low-pressure trough continued to attract humidity against the shoreline.
Tuesday was forecast to be the heaviest precipitation period, with persistent severe weather risk anticipated across various areas of both states.
Health Warning
Medical authorities alerted that there was an increased chance of thunderstorm-induced asthma across the countryside regions, particularly given the ongoing climate situation.
This caution comes after previous incidents where similar conditions led to major medical consequences in the state.
